Week 35!

My friend Leslie and I at her shower on 9/18.  She was 37 weeks!
Week 35: Sept. 21, 2012
157 lbs, Bust 37 ½, Waist 43, Hips 41 ½

This week I received my Motherlove Birth and Baby Oil in the mail…It is an apricot oil with no essential oils but has lavender essence. IT is safe for perineal massage, birth massage and baby massage. My hubby even gave me a massage with it on our date night and it is a lovely oil!

I recently found out two things that could impact my planned VBAC a little. Both placenta attachment to the uterine scar and single (as opposed to double) suturing complicate VBACS in that they increase the risk of hemorrhage and need for transfusion. I am going to talk to the midwives about this – to find out if I have either – on my next appt (Tue). I am not sure it will change much, but I would like to know. It is likely, because I did have low placenta at one time and my placenta is attached in the front. This much I know. What I don’t know is whether the placenta is low enough to have imbedded into the scar tissue. It is also possible that I had a single suture, as I did deliver Annika at a larger hospital with a surgeon who is pretty progressive. This is a pretty progressive technique that many larger hospitals (especially) are trying in order to save time. The fact that it was an emergency cesarean may also have impacted whether a single or double suture was used.

I have also been concerned about the position of the baby. I cannot figure out what I am feeling half the time and it is freaking me out. Is the baby still head down? (was at 30 and 33 weeks)? It the baby OA (occiput anterior-desired way) or OP (occiput posterior)? I am going to ask this too at my appt. I am sure everything is fine…just starting to freak out a little.
